It’s all a little mysterious, Mike. On the LOOK3 Web site is a reference to something from Lightstalkers in the final, big show. I have asked a couple of people on the Festival staff about that and no one seems to know what has been arranged. These people may well not be in a position to know, and I have not had a chance to ask head man Nick Nichols yet. So, if you are burning with curiosity, I suggest you e-mail Teru and ask him what’s up on this (maybe even if you aren’t burning but would just like to know).

Shots slideshow has some LSers in it, and David Alan Harvey’s picks has some (am in that one) but I don’t know of another, separate LS slideshow..

Hi Neal, sounds like some confusion — don’t wish to deflate any mysteries or burning sensations, but just to head off any hurt feelings, there is no “Lightstalkers” slideshow at FoP -

What will be screening is a November Eleven directed multimedia piece based on the Battlespace exhibition – I believe at the LOOK3 theater – most of the 20+ photographers involved are here on LS, and it’s narrated by two members, a photojournalist (Mike Kamber), and a soldier (Joe White)- it deals with many of the issues of press restrictions and declining media reporting that have been discussed here on the site. For those who don’t make it to FoP, it will be released concurrently as a podcast on Daylight magazine’s website, and a print exhibition of Battlespace will be opening this weekend at the Staten Island Artwalk festival in New York.

Also at FoP, the Saturday night presentation of Balazs Gardi’s work is a short version of the multi-media piece created by November Eleven, Todd Griffin, and Blind Grace Pictures which originally screened at the World Press photo awards.

This is probably a good time to say thanks to Joe White for all his work on the Battlespace project, and to Jody Sugrue for her animation contributions, and to Aaron Greenhood at Daylight for his hard work executing it for us.

Speaking of hard work, and getting back to the original question – Last year’s un-official Lightstalkers exhibition curated by Andy Levin is now online, and is dedicated to two LS members who were killed in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Bob’s pics (as well as those of LSers Erica McDonald and James Chance…I’m sure I have missed others) were indeed a part of the Harvey emerging photogs show this afternoon. They were preceded by the products of the Gene Richards, DA Harvey and Bill Allard workshops. Full disclosure…I was a part of Allard’s and some of my stuff ran, but the product across all workshops was just stunning. I think the Festival is going to run the student work again as part of the screenings after the Friday night Shots program in the IX Warehouse.

A few days ago the LOOK3 personnel were confused about who was supplying what, and what was to be in the Lightstalkers name, but maybe it is now staightened out.
