<body>my old powerbook g4 finally bit the dust (logic board needs to be replaced and it's not really worth investing the money into an old computer) and i am looking for a replacement.

so my question is pretty simple, does anyone have experience running final cut, photoshop and/or lightroom on one of the new 13 in. macbook pros? there are two models to choose from. would love to hear anyone's experience with either of these two machines. ive read some old posts on the subject but i thought a new topic couldnt hurt too much.

the specs are pretty much the same, except for:

2.26GHZ Processor v. 2.53 GHZ Processor
2GB of RAM v. 4GB of RAM
160GB Hard Drive v. 250 GB Hard Drive

obviously one is faster, but all i care about is if the cheaper one is fast enough :) id like to put the $300 savings into an apple care protection plan or additional RAM (the upgrade from 2-4GB is only $100). the difference in hard drive size isnt really an issue as all my data is stored on fast external drives. my main concern is the difference in processor speeds, namely whether .27 GHZ additional computing power is crucial or not.

thanks,
