Aimed at keen amateurs and emerging professionals, this event will provide participants with an honest evaluation and critical analysis of their photographic work. Reviews will be 20 minutes long and each participant will be reviewed by 3 different Magnum photographers (reviewers are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Event organisers will allocate review times). Reviewing photographers are Christopher Anderson, Stuart Franklin, Susan Meiselas, David Alan Harvey, Alessandra Sanguinetti, Alex Webb, Larry Towell, Costa Manos, Mark Power & Donovan Wylie. To benefit most from this event we recommend that you have been published or exhibited your work at least once, or are a keen amateur who has been seriously involved in photography for a minimum of three years. Photography/arts based students and graduates are welcome to apply. First Impressions is run in conjunction with The Photographers' Gallery and will be held at their new premises in Ramillies Street. A variety of books and film screenings will be available during waiting time. The Cafe will provide complimentary refreshments and a chance to review the work of peers.
