Fixer rate / Uganda
|
Hello,
I am going to be starting my first personal project abroad (Uganda). I was wondering how much one compensates someone for driving around and also possible hotel stays in other towns. Is there a rate? The person who will be helping me from Kampala is a resident and is part of an organization that sponsors different people in the region that I am interested in photographing. He does not need any photos for trade. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I am here in Uganda now on an ongoing project and US $100 is about the rate for a car and driver, as long as u are paying for the fuel. There are lots of fine hotel choices mostly depending on your budget…Outside of Kampala steady power is still a bit iffy so plan accordingly with back up batteries for all devices.

If you’re looking for something outside of Kampala, a friend of mine works at Comfort Cottages in Kasangati, which is around a 10 mile drive north. The food and service is good and prices around $20 or so (might be different now). PM me if you would like contact info.
Best of luck
Sean
