I still don’t get how there can be no Turkish photographers as teachers. This isn’t a criticism, just an observation. So no need to get defensive (because I know everyone involved puts a lot of effort into making this happen). In a city with so many good, local, Turkish photographers that could help students get beyond the obvious, there isn’t a single Turkish instructor. Is it that Turks just don’t want to take part in it?

No, its that I havent gotten responses of yes yet from the Turkish photogs that Ive asked- and its been multiple, multiple ones. I do know many want to come as students, whether they need a workshop or not! Not sure why this is.

I would love to be able to make it! I am working on my schedule to see if I can make it happen. What is the latest date we can sign on for the workshop?

Kloie, I am not an official source of info (though I will be there again, photographing and blogging the events). But I really urge you to get your application in ASAP. Because it is Istanbul, always a popular place for photographers, it is almost certain to sell out. Preference will be given to photographers from the region, because Foundry was created to serve emerging photographers from areas which may not offer much formal educational programming. So those from other areas really do need to sign up soonest!

Kloie- there is no latest sign up date, but Ive had three new students in the last 2 hours as it is. Almost guaranteed, this year will sell out, even with 18 instructors.

DONE, yes indeed I am going to meet all you guys FINALLY (Neal, Eric, and of course Tewfic etc etc) and get my camera kicked into shape. I am inspirited again!

Kloie, that’s great, ’cause you will be able to offer a lot to your fellow students. One of the great things about Foundry is that a lot of excellent photographers sign up as students and become de facto resources to their peers. This wonderfully augments the world-class faculty instruction.
