Frankfurt, Germany airport troubles

For those who may be passing through the Frankfurt airport anytime soon, a warning.
My wife went through yesterday with a lot of high speed film, politely asked for a hand check and after they denied her request, even after being shown the x ray warning on the film packs, she was pulled from line and delayed until she missed her connecting flight and was forced to buy another ticket, as she was told it was her fault she missed the flight.
I have been through there before and it is never easy with security, but this is above and beyond, so be warned. It may be a one time occurrence, but keep it in mind.

Your wife may be a terrorist. You should check. There’s been so may attacks recently involving terrorists causing mayhem with high-speed film.
I hate western air travel these days….

I will look into that angle, although they took all my kid’s food away too, so I guess that may make it a two-fer.
Terrorism with teething biscuits is a big problem.

For all the security paranoia focussed on photographers, how many convicted terrorists have ever been found to have posed as a photographer along the way? From any of the planning materials recovered from convicted terrorists, how much of it has was photography produced on professional grade SLRs? Security my arse. A greater proportion of it is down to bored security staff who have a lot more discretion than they should have all of a sudden .
