Free Anton Hammerl.

South African photographer Anton Hammerl has been missing in Libya since the beginning of April 2011.

No one has seen or heard from him since he was captured in Brega. It was initially reported that he was with three other journalists who have all been seen in a detention centre in Tripoli… but still nothing about Anton. If you haven’t yet signed the petition, please do so:

Libya late on short-term four journalists free one month already stuck. The Libyan government spokesman Moussa Ibrahim argues that the four had entered the country illegally and has already brought in a court. According to Ibrahim involves journalists James Foley, who works for global postal agency, a freelancer Claire Gillis Morgana (including USA Today) and the Spanish journalist Manu Brabo. A fourth was not named, but that’s probably a photojournalist Anton Hammerl

The fourth journalist released is Nigel Chandler from the UK. Still no word whatsoever on Anton. Foley works for GlobalPost, which is not a postal agency.

It has emerged that Anton Hammerl was shot by the Pro-Gaddafi soldiers that captured James Foley, Clare Morgana Gillis and Manu Brabo, 46 days ago. He was left behind in the desert. Please say a prayer for him.
