<body>The French medal, the &quot;Ordre national de la L&#233;gion d'honneur&quot;(Legion of Honor),was bestowed upon John G. Morris - former photography editor: Magnum, Washington Post, New York Times, National Geographic - Paris, France. The award was created 1802 by Napoleon Bonaparte. The order is generally, although not exclusively, awarded for military service. The Order is the highest and most prestigious decoration in France. May this be an inspiration to photojournalist - young and old - around the world. </body>
