Looking for a room in a shared apartment

Do you know nice people in New York who would like to share their apartment with a 27-year-old friendly literature student with good social skills?

I will arrive from Berlin in August to work on my Ph.D. in the German Department. I got a four year scholarship for NY, so the rent is guaranteed.I’ll be at NYU, so Manhattan and Brooklyn (Williamsburg, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Brooklyn Heights) would be especially convenient, something in the rate of app. $900.

If you cannot help me in the long term, perhaps you know a place where I could stay with a friend in August (from the 11th till the end of the month).

My landlord has some 1 bedrooms in brooklyn that are being renovated now. I think that he wants 1100 but I am not sure. If you like, I can get you the management number, they are not the best apartments, but they are ok. It is in Clinton Hill Brooklyn near Pratt.

Hi Kai, if your friend is still looking, a friend of Juhi had a room in williamsburg/bushwick for $625. don’t know if it is still available, but you can ask Juhi, she’s on my contact list.

also, Adam Pratomo has a room in Park Slope, or maybe the entire apt. If he’s not in the directory, let me know, I’ll forward his contact info.
