Getting London - Kandahar

one afghani friend of mine went from Kabul to Kandahar by bus. I don´t know if this is advisable to a stranger though…

most direct would be London to Dubai – from DXB there’s commercial flights to Kandahar civilian airport and contractor/charter flights into KAF.

bus from Kabul to Kandahar is highly unadvisable.

your best bet is actually going to Frankfurt.
Departing from Frankfurt on Safi Airlines and arriving in Kabul.
Once in Kabul you can take a commercial flight to Kandahar.

Giles, the bus from Kabul to Kandahar is dusty as well as risky of getting mugged by bandits. I don’t even mention everyone on the bus vomitting. So if you aren’t a Turk, it is not advisable.

You might still want to try a highprofile driver and have a golf ball in case the driver uses his mobile phone while you are shooting away from the car. Exercise before you depart. I was just lucky to shoot at once.

Regarding reaching Kabul, for your case, taking BA from London to Istanbul, every morning, to take Turkish Airlines from Istanbul to Kabul, three times a week, is easy and cost-effective. Frankfurt is easier only for North Americans. While I have no idea why would one fly to Dubai to reach Kabul. It must be the dinner of Emirates and stupid editors paying the bill. Or just the embedded thing.
