Great Leica service in UK

CRR of Luton www.crrluton.co.uk

I sent an M6TTL to them on Friday recorded delivery, it arrived Saturday, they repaired it on Sunday & called me to tell me about it, sent it back on Monday and I had it in my hand on Tuesday. Excellent service.

The light meter was 5 stops out in low light and films sometimes jammed after a few frames. Both problems appear to have been solved. The cost was gbp95 including tax and p&p.

I’ll use them again without a doubt.

Cheers, PHC.

What’s amazing is how an M6 would get off five stops. I’ve never heard of that. Either they work (correctly) or they don’t work at all. I’m glad you were able to get it fixed so quickly, Paul. Thanks for the update.

It was a strange problem John.

This is my low light camera, routinely operating at 32k in very low light with a ’lux. The night-time pictures in this gallery were taken with this set-up on TMZ.

I noticed the camera stopped offering the red circle LED, switching straight from one triangle to the other, with a couple of stops “slack” if you know what I mean. I started checking it with a hand held meter – something I’d left out of my bag for years as the M6/7 meters are so good – and it was clearly goofing off.

Peter at CRR sorted it out anyway. Fine chap that he is. It had been caused by water ingress through the shoe.

Cheers, PHC.
