Hey Folks,
Thought I had posted this already but apparently not.
Below is some info regarding health insurance/ assistance for self-employed, artists… Also, check out nyfa source and call the 1800(232 2789) number to speak to NYFA staff – you will have referral info on health insurance as well as the potential for emergency grants.
If you have any more info regarding this matter do pass it on. I have a friend who is uninsured and has recently become ill. For any help, I would be grateful.
Thanks,
Gigi

Getting and Keeping Health Insurance: Resources for Artists
Speaker: Jim Brown, Managing Director, Artists Health Insurance Resource Center, The Actors Fund of America
With health insurance in the United States being largely employer-based, most Americans access health insurance through their jobs. For people in the arts and entertainment, with incomes that often depend on freelance employment, with work that is project-based, or who are self-employed, finding affordable health insurance is increasingly difficult. This seminar will focus on resources and opportunities available to artists and arts professionals for obtaining health insurance.

St. Francis College, Founders Hall
182 Remsen Street
