Hostile Relations Training with the British Army

Hey there,
Just wondering if anyone has done the British Army Hostile Relations Training for journalists. Think it’s run by  Media Ops and lasts 4 or 5 days. Was looking for a point of contact or phone number. Has anyone done this training and would you recommend it?
Many thanks, Anastasia

British Army hostile relations training? You mean like joining the IRA? They have pretty hostile relations with the British Army…

Dubious attempts at humour aside…I’ve looked around and can’t find anything except areas of the Army where they train military personnel to deal with the media (how to handle interviews etc).

Theres a site here about a training centre in RAF Uxbridge, or you could try this which is the contact details of an auxiliary Airforce squadron which handles media relations across the forces. They could get you details I suppose.

The only media Hostile Environments training people I know are AKE or Centurion, which are British training companies which come very highly recommended. I did the AKE course and it was great – and was just up the road from you (just outside Abergavenny.)

If you’re a freelance, you can apply for a grant from the Rory Peck Trust, who can provide you with all the details.
