Hotel in Beirut
|
I’m headed to Beirut for a project in mid Jan. Is there a particular hotel that photographers/journalists use there? Also, any line on an interpreter/fixer would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi Nish,
In 2010 I stayed in The Mayflower, nice hotel, close to Hamra Street: http://www.mayflowerbeirut.com/index1.asp

Hi Nish,
Don’t know about you, but this site keeps crashing on me. This is also about your response to Anika Burgess’ post. It really depends on your budget. The Mayflower is known to be popular with journalists. I’d take a look at AirBnB as well if I was you.
Back in June 2011 I used a taxi driver named Sobhi. His prices were fair and he was a decent guy. His number is 961 7062 0423.

Thanks for the replies. I’m actually staying with a family I know in Bourj Hammoud, and have a car/driver, but I want to talk to other photographers while I’m there. Everyone needs a good bar :D
If anyone has any FSA contacts in the Bekaa Valley/Baalbek area, or ways to get into Alquasyr that would be helpful.
Thanks!
