Invent a word..

I think there is a need for a new word for “audio visual slideshow”. Any ideas? I thought of “avarrative”, but that’s a bit rubbish.
Cheers m’dears.

When I yell at someone on the road, I call the a “jackamahole”

You can probably guess what words/phrases were merged with “ama” added in the middle for fun.

GROKKLESNORP! You want a word, there’s a word.

"To be sure I was!’ Humpty Dumpty said gaily as she turned it round for him. `I thought it looked a little queer. As I was saying, that seems to be done right — though I haven’t time to look it over thoroughly just now - and that shows that there are three hundred and sixty-four days when you might get un-birthday presents -

`Certainly,’ said Alice.

`And only one for birthday presents, you know. There’s glory for you!’

`I don’t know what you mean by “glory”,’ Alice said.

Humpty Dumpty smiled contemptuously. `Of course you don’t — till I tell you. I meant “there’s a nice knock-down argument for you!”’

`But “glory” doesn’t mean “a nice knock-down argument”,’ Alice objected.

`When I use a word,’ Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, `it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.’

`The question is,’ said Alice, `whether you can make words mean so many different things.’

`The question is,’ said Humpty Dumpty, `which is to be master — that’s all.’ Through the Looking Glass, Lewis Carroll

i think the word you are looking for is “video”

though i suppose if you want to separate it from moving pictures you could call it “still video” or “still audio” for that matter.

if that doesn’t work then perhaps phodio. a phodio presentation et cetera.

My daughter combined stupid and poop to make poopid, as in “She’s poopid!” or the more emphatic “She’s a poopid head!!”.

In the software circles I move in we pretty much call it a “multimedia slideshow”. We use “video” for video clips, and “movie” for edited video. “Capture and edit your video, add titles and music, and burn your movie on a DVD. Create multimedia slideshows by adding music, narration and pan & zoom effects to your photos.”

Soundslide is a very concise, descriptive name, but I wouldn’t use it unless you were using the SoundSlides software package.

Back when I was a kid, we used to watch these filmstrips that were a series of connected slides with synchronized audio – I think we just called them “Film Strips” though some of the teachers used to call them “Flicker Strips” which I always thought sounded stupid.

I generally just refer to them as “Audio Slideshows” to differentiate the from slideshows with no audio.

As in: “I just sent my finished linear-motostatigraph off to Joe Blow at So&So, Inc.”

Perhaps we can cut it down to just MOTOSTATIGRAPH – “Did you see Joe Blow’s motostatigraph on botched beer belly reductions?”

Kinda rolls right out the ol’ lips…doesn’t it…M-O-T-O-S-T-A-T-I-Graph!
