Iran: Journalist Visa

Hey,
I’m planning a trip to Iran around the elections. The application for the tourist visa is already complicated.(Business hours posted on the net don’t have anything to do with real life, instructions are contradictory, my farsi is limited to say at least…) Since I might wanna cover official meetings, I thought about getting a journalist visa. Do you think it’s worth the hassle? Are you free to move around with a j-visa?
