We are looking to recruit a junior photographer who has a passion for pictures and a good nose for a great shot.
Ideally this would suit someone with at least a vocational level of qualifications and/or some previous experience in newspapers.
The successful candidate will be required to split their time between advertising and editorial departments, allowing them to develop a good portfolio of commercial, news and feature photography.
You will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Photographic skill – the ability to quickly capture the essence of stories in a single picture or collection of images
- Time management – the ability to take pictures, write picture captions, manipulate images and fulfil other organisational tasks within newsroom deadlines
- Generate ideas – the ability to contribute ideas for news photos and spreads to give our readers a great-looking paper
- Communication and team skills – the ability to work well with other newsroom members and build a strong relationship with the wider community.
