581 Greetings! We are pleased to announce that Slideluck Potshow will be collaborating with this year's LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph in Charlottesville, Virginia. For those of you unfamiliar with LOOK3--it is definitely one of the best things going in today's photography world. The LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph (www.festivalofthephotograph.org) is a 3-day celebration of photography that takes place from June 11th-13th in Charlottesville, VA. The weekend will be filled with gallery exhibits, outdoor projections, Masters Talks presentations, workshops, and special events- including SLPS. Much like Slideluck, LOOK3 grew out of 20 years of backyard slideshow parties thrown by wildlife photographer and National Geographic editor-at-large, Nick Nichols. What is perhaps more significant and synergistic, though, is the unique sense of community, intimacy and appreciation that transpires during a photography gathering that is driven more by human connectivity than anything else. There will also be a number of other great workshops (James Nachtwey, David Alan Harvey, Brian Storm) exhibits (Pictures of the Year International, World Press Photo) and Masters Talks (Callie Shell, George Steinmetz, Phillip Toledano.) Charlottesville is a bucolic and historic little college town located about 2 hours south of DC. There are direct buses from both NYC and DC and more information as well as festival tickets can be found on the LOOK3 website. Let us not overlook all of the other great shows that are taking place this Spring! On Saturday, April 25th, in collaboration with Photo Lucida and Sandbox Studio, we will be having our third SLPS in Portland, OR. Shortly thereafter, on Friday, May 8th, SLPS San Francisco II, will be taking place in collaboration with LeftSpace, Eat-Ins, Livebooks and Nerve.com. On May 21st, Maumau Underground will be hosting SLPS Barcelona III and on Friday, May 29th, Ouch My Eye Studio will be hosting the next SLPS Seattle. We also have a few things brewing for the New York area.
