Katrina on Bagnewsnotes
|
my photos of New Orleans and Katrina have been featured on Michael Shaw’s blog which analyses news photographs:
http://bagnewsnotes.typepad.com/bagnews/2005/09/katrina_afterma.html#comments
the general link to the site is:
http://www.bagnewsnotes.com
if you search the archives also you’ll find Tim Fadek’s pictures from the Terry Schiavo mess in Florida and some of my photos from Iraq this spring.

Good work Alan. Thanks for sharing.
Image of person standing in flood waters with powerlines (#16, not dude with guitar ) garnered the biggest response from me. It has a very anachronistic, Americana kind of feel to it.
Good site/blog as well.

I liked the conversation/discussion on black and white versus color. great great work.thank you so much, alan.

is it just me or do some of these seem soft or outta focus? maybe its just the scans…?
personally id prefer stronger more bold printing than the flat look that seems to be common among em….
overall its not bad as pic stories go….
|
btw, as far as the bw issue is concerned, its a lot harder to sell BW only pix rather than doing color and converting….most publications i bet asked if you had these in color, since thats what most people tend to like and understand…..mags are a biz after all…i however still prefer them in bw, just wish the prints were better

I was looking for your pictures for a while whithout luck . Thanks for sharing Allan.
