hey good luck out there, I have some useful contacts for you out there, could be useful. The first is Nono, he is an activist working with a street theater called Kamikaze, they try to educate the population with the elections, about gender issues, war, aids, stuff like that. He is also working for the ministery at the same time. Has a lot of connections, and is near the population. He is around 40 but a good guy to meet and to know. His number is 099 99 32 468 or 099 85 34 901, tell him you had his number from jan-joseph. I was there in may.
Otherwise there is also Marcus bleasdale, he is a british photojournalist based in congo. good to know as well.

and to stay, there is a missionary house, called procure saint anne in front of the american embassy, where the “pere andy” is also very useful
and helpful. And it is the cheapest and probably one of the safest place in town.

I will be in congo in october, working as a photographer
for greenpeace( forest devastation, trafficking, etc…)Going regularly to africa, I miss it. South america is totally not safe compared to africa. I already had a knife under my throat and under my balls, nearly killed just for my wallet.
Right now in suriname, south america, probably going to brazil.
Have a look at my website www.stok-foto.nl and www.zilverencamera.nl (canonprijs)I have been awarded best fotojournalist of the year under 30 in the netherlands.
Send you positive vibrations,
