Lens Fungus

What ever happened to lens fungus. It seems I never hear about it anymore. Maybe I haven’t paid enough attention. Or, perhaps, modern lens coatings have solved the problem? Or, can it be that photographers no longer keep their lenses long enough for fungus to destroy them? Or, even worse, can it be, as with certain insidious diseases that have been eradicated in the industrialized countries but still prevalent in developing countries, lens fungus still exists?

Only the third world professional photographers deal with it because we are obligated to purchase old used lenses. Oh, and the collectors in developed countries because they want a mint lensmicron or whatever in their shelves. Another reason is the consumerism, last decade there was launched more cameras than in the other century if you include the phones. But don’t worry, this little bastards are still stalking in the dark and humid places waiting for their time, without breath, without heart bits, only waiting.

I wonder if the global warming have something to do with that issue too.

Monsanto has now developed fungicide-ready glass systems. All lens manufacturers must buy the Monsanto glass, and then spray it with Monsanto’s Roundup/F fungicide, which kills all fungi.

You heard it here first!
