Who’s the photographer with the funny hat in this picture: http://sopronyi.photoshelter.com/gallery-image/Attack-Ras-Lanuf-Libya/G0000ehQAPpnLwXk/I0000o9K.uxGUmK0 I’ve seen several takes of that scene (Hicks, Kozyrev, you) and now I want to see his frame.
I shoot with a 5D Mark II and as far as I know, you can record video and shoot stills at the same time, but you’ll get a hiccup in video. Maybe the other Canons do the same without the hiccup? Anyone know?
Conrad: I use a 7D which also has video, but it’s a full HD, through-the-lens view. This appears to be looking at the viewfinder, right? With the focal points?
Tom: thanks for sharing Sebastian’s blog, I am finding it really interesting.
I shoot with the 7D, and you definitely get a “hiccup” when you shoot a still frame while doing video. Do any of the DSLRs capture a still frame without the “hiccup?” Thanks for the footage, and yes, be safe!

Still no answer on how to record video through the viewfinder (see AF points)…Actually I don’t care so much, but it’s a bit weird and I am always open to learn new twisted things.
Hah, do you attach it via gaffer tape or something? I’d be concerned about dropping the phone, or running out of memory/battery quickly. Interesting idea though, and great video :)
