I am planning a new trip to Baggers. Anyone know about insurances life for war zones and if, as a chilean, I can apply for one of those.

Cheers,

baggers? where’s that?
there are many super expensive british and american insurance that will insure you as long as you pay, no matter where you’re from. some of them require a special 3 day “survival” course.
i found that the best for freelancers (for me), is to get a personal custom made one. i found an agent in israel, sat with him a couple of times and we tailored a custom made insurance that doesn’t cost too much since it falls under a regular life / health insurance, but has a LOT of exceptions, and we praticaly rewrote the whole thing to cover every possible situation. it takes time but it’s worth it. oh, and part of it is a health-proffesional insurance that basicaly covers my body in case i can’t take photos anymore, i get something like a salary for life.

www.crisis-insurance.co.uk – these guys specialise in individual insurance for freelancers on a worldwide basis. (and they seem to have what looks like a stolen photo of nachtwey on their site, too!)

or try THB (big insurance company) who have a special branch dealing with freelancers – contact this guy for details: Contact: Tim Nagle Tel: 00 44 (0) 20 7392 1952 Fax: 00 44 (0) 20 7392 1802 Email: tnagle@thbclowes.com or freestyle@thbclowes.com
