looking for an opportunity...

hi i have a 3 week paid vacation from my job in August and don’t feel like being a tourist anymore… i did some volunteer work last year when i was in South East Asia with an orphanage for children with Aids and want to spend this privileged time off doing something good for myself and someone else.
sooooooo… i’m looking for any tips of places that need volunteers.. maybe Africa or eastern Europe (i am not able to freely travel in the middle east so that is out of the question) i’m getting a bit frustrated looking at all these websites online that would like me to pay $500 for the opportunity to donate my time, energy, good will and money.
if anyone knows of an organization or even just someone who is doing work down there and i could assist in any way, please do let me know.
I would also consider joining someone on assignment abroad as an assistant/apprentice.
