Looking for Volunteer Photo Editor in Iraqi Kurdistan

Hey Everyone,

Kamaran Najm, a young Iraqi photographer, is setting up the first Iraqi photography agency and needs some help. www.metrography.org

Kamaran is looking for someone to be the photo editor of the new agency in its infancy. For the time being he’s got a grant that just covers basic equipment, so he can’t pay until the agency starts creating revenue.

Room and board is obviously covered.

The office is in Sulaymaniyah in Iraqi Kurdistan.

Although there is no pay, this would be a great opportunity for any students looking for internships and the opportunity to work in northern Iraq. There will of course be plenty of time to go off and shoot in the region and transportation and translators will be provided.

If you’re interested, know someone who’d be interested, or have any ideas on how to spread the word to college campuses etc., please get in touch.

thanks,
sebastian

Does he need students to intern? In that case i can help out by spreading the word at Brooks Institute of Photography.

p.s What are the qualifications required?

cheers,

Krishna

Thanks for the offer Krishna! I’ve been swamped with interest, so for the time being I don’t think I need to advertise. But if it’s OK, I’ll get back to you in a few weeks and maybe we can set something up for later in the year.

Only qualifications needed are fluent English, an eye for good photos, and the ability to get photographers to take them.

thanks again.
