<body>I've recently purchased a Mac Pro which I know have connected to two external hard drives. One is a working disk with my archive and the other is a back up. I need to upgrade to a bigger drive and wonder if there are any advantages to having the working drive internal vs. external, especially as it relates to speed.

With my current set-up I'm always waiting on my external hard drive in Photoshop. It's as if the drive goes in to a quasi-sleep mode and then has to wake up each time I want to save or open images. If anyone has any tips on how to speed up this issue, I'd be much indebted to you.

Thanks and all the best,
Charlie</body>
