You will learn about creating an in-depth documentary project as opposed to just a photojournalism story and you find out about the editorial world of New York and how to navigate it. You will learn about publishing a photo book and why it can be important to your career.
Donna Ferrato is an incredibly prolific photographer, working in major magazines, producing books and has started her own foundation, Domestic Abuse Awareness. She was informally trained at the San Francisco Art Institute. You can read more about her here. her three books are: Living With The Enemy (Aperture, 1991), Amore (Motta, 2001), and Love and Lust (Aperture, 2004). She has received the W. Eugene Smith Prize in 1986 and the RFK Journalism Award, among others.
