Minutemen portraits

Not my usual style, but I have felt the need to have more control over pose and light in my documentary work. Shot on a canon 5d with profoto 600 pack, 40 degree grid, and ususally powered a stop over ambient light. The minutemen are a volunteer group of men and women who watch the U.S. Mexico border.

Is it just me or do they look a little flat?

I feel like I saw someone else on LS do something on these guys and had a shot of the top guy with the fake border patrol cap.

I wonder if there is anyone guarding the Canadian border, somehow I doubt it.

I like the way you captered all their fronts. It gives me a weird feeling of concentration and allertness from them. Nicely done
