Momenta Workshops

I can’t speak from experience for the workshops. But if you can get into one with Chris Usher, I guarantee you’ll learn tons, and have a good time doing it.

I’ve been a host for Momenta Workshops at the New Orleans Photo Alliance’s home space for 3 years. I’ve seen how they teach and have been impressed with the enthusiasm and discipline they instill in all of photographers. Regardless of level, this team of professionals will put everyone’s ability to the test. This is not a workshop for rank beginners in photography. It is about raising your abilities to a new level. While I wouldn’t call it a “boot camp” experience, you may feel you’ve gone through one. I highly recommend it for anyone who has an idea they may want to work with NGOs or non-profit organizations. Chris Usher and Jamie Rose are exceptional professionals.

Okay, first, even after 5 years of running this company it still tickles me to see people we’ve never met inquire about us. Still makes me feel like we’re doing something right.

Momenta has an excellent reputation. I’ve never seen their workshop personally, but I know those who have and they have uniformly praised it. Chris, Jamie and Mary Calvert are excellent photojournalists by any standard and have each taught in a number of different settings.

Chris is indeed a bit nuts (:-)>) but that just livens things up….
