If you get stuck couchsurfing.org/search would be a good place to start looking. CS is mainly a “hospitality exchange” network (the biggest one out there, actually) but the level of intelligence is failry high and people are generally helpful with information even if you aren’t contacting them with a view to staying with them. You should find both expats and locals on there who may be able to give you information/hook you up with people they know. For even more choices try checking out people in nearby Brazzaville as well, which is just across the river (and fairly easy to get to if you’re actually there – ferries run between the two cities and I believe you only need a permit from the DRC side to make a short trip there and back). Best of luck to you, I’ve heard some pretty intense stories about Kinshasa and I hear it’s a pretty wild-west type of place. Take care of yourself man :-)

I forgot to mention: you don’t need to register an account to do a search, but you will need to do that in order to PM anyone. Good luck.
