mumbai airport restrictions

Has anyone flown out of Mumbai recently? Does security there allow one carry-on and a personal item, or do Heathrow-like restricions apply, with only one bag per passenger? thanks for any information.

Generally I have never trusted checked bags in India. Given that the per capita income is around $800, those checked bags are just too tempting to ignore unfortunatly.

I flew out in August; no problems with checked or carry on (2)bags- I always carry on my cameras and laptop/valuables on any flight, anywhere, no matter the PCI. If someone wants my clothes after a month traveling in India, they are welcome to them (stiinnn-ky).
