I’m doing MA Photojournalism at Westminster. Got a couch if you’re really stuck.

I was going to apply to LCC, may be next year now but my plan was to put a post on LS and ask if anyone wanted to share a place, makes sense if you’re all doing the came course, share ideas, resources, rent, transport etc etc?

Hi, I am leaving in January, so my room would be available. It is furnished with a office table and office chair, single bed, plenty of space although it is not extremely big: 4.5m by 3.5m. Area: Willesden Green, on the NW Jubilee Line. Let me know if you need to see a pic or if you need in the future.

Eva PM me to see how much you were thinking about spending and if the room interest you at all.

hello, we have a spare room which we sometimes rent out to students on a bed and breakfast basis. it is in tottenham in north london, not the greatest area but nice house with good transport links.
good luck anyway.

For anyone thinking about applying to LCC – I had my interview today. I applied at beginning of 2007. The interview was postponed from sept till nov.

Discovered today that we were applying for the 2009 MA. They “couldnt tell us” that the MA for 2008 had been booked up since May. A bit unprofessional not to let us know until now.

Just to let anyone interested know – so they shouldn’t take everything at face value with the course.

The course is very over subscribed, that’s true. I was also told that I would have to wait a year before I could actually commence it. I have to be honest and say though that waiting a year for my MA to start has been very beneficial in preparing myself for it. I’m actually grateful to Paul Lowe for making me wait.

When I found out I had been accepted and therefore basically had a year ‘free’, I returned to Hong Kong and immersed myself into photography even more by getting a job with the main paper out here (South China Morning Post). I then began working as a full time assistant at a photography studio in December 2006 until 2 days ago. It helped me save the cash to upgrade my equipment – which I did today and tomorrow I’m off to Taipei to shoot a story which was commissioned by a contact I made through work.

What I’m trying to say is that I don’t believe the MA is there to make you an instantly successful photographer. There are so many things which are equally as important, such as knowledge of how to run a photographic business, marketing, dealing with clients, contracts, commissions, lighting, and other fields of photography. I’ve learnt so much this year and I can now return to London and apply my knowledge and work experience academically.

Don’t get disheartened by having to wait a year and think of it as a great opportunity to get even more out of your MA. Get even more focused and the wait will fly by.

Good luck!
