580 <b>FILMMAKING FOR SOCIAL CHANGE: An Introduction to Documentary Filmmaking and Theory</b> The Frontline Club, London Four consecutive Saturdays: 14 Nov - 5 Dec Following on from a successful workshop of the same name in Karachi earlier this year, <b>Patrick Hazard</b> (director of the <i>London International Documentary Festival</i>) leads this course over four consecutive saturdays at the frontline club for anyone interested in how documentaries can inspire and effect social change. Incorporating talks and screenings from professional filmmakers as well as practical guidance on the process of documentary, participants will be given the tools needed to research and make their own film as well as a deeper understanding of the ethics, theory and outcomes of documentary filmmaking. Weaving a course through the history of documentary film and its relationship to social movements the workshops will combine theory, practice, debate and small-group work. By the conclusion of the course the film project will have been developed to production stage.
