NEW IMAC?

WHEN??? I know this is going to be a brick wall post because no one can know the answer to the following question… Has anyone got any info, inside goss or anything for that matter on when the new IMAC is being released? I am in serious need for a new computer and don’t want to waste money on the current Imac if a new update is coming out soon… but how soon? According to the MAc Rumor sites we are due for an update… not knowing when that may be is killing me. It is also important that I make this purchase before the end of the financial year which in Australia is the end of June… I would be grateful for any info.

don’t they normally release new product to coincide with back to school and christmas to insure maximum purchasing.

so probably august.

i would recommend looking in to when they put new releases out last year and assume it will be around the same time.

though really i wouldn’t bother as their mac book pro updates were pretty pathetic and i can’t imagine anything stupendous happening with the imac. maybe 0.2 ghz faster, possibly another gig of ram and 80gb more storage.

just buy it now and buy an extra 2gb of ram for ~$50

there is value in having things now but don’t blame me if a new one comes out next week.

This is a good site for these things:

And it says an update is 50 days over due. That means you might get an announcement at the Apple World Wide Developers’ shindig in June. If it was me, I’d be waiting. But as Sascha said, it probably won’t be radically different because the new metal enclosure is very new. You’ll get slightly more horse power for slightly less money, is all.

so there you go, problem is i don’t remember what the base mac was anymore.

2.0ghz? same hdd, same ram, same graphics card.
