i’m in the matakana region now on assignment which will end on friday.
then have 2 weeks to explore on my own.planning on going to coromandel, and perhaps up in the northland again. looking to stay in the north island, and stay in auckland for about a few days.
would love yer suggestions, and or to meet for a beer if u have time.

Hi,
Accomdation is pretty cheap in Thames stay at the Hotel Imperal on Pollen Street or one of the other back packers around. There is some good nature/landscape type shooting up north in Coromandel just ask one of the locals they are a pretty friendly lot. If you want to get human interest or the face of Maori NZ go to the Hokianga area beautiful landscape, awesome people and great seafood. If you have an interest in the radical Maori movement someone on Matakana should be able to put you in touch with someone pretty easily. I think Tamaite is still around in Auckland somewhere. It’s a small country and everyone knows everyone in a way.

Let me know what ya want to shoot. Might have some more ideas for ya. Couldn’t get hold of my friends or family today so sorry can’t help out regarding private accomdation.

Hey man, sorry we did not connect.
just returned home today.
had a grteat trip.
did make it to coromandel for 1 night.
and also up north at bay of islands for a week. gorjus.

ended up being in aukcland for only 1 night as well.
thanks again for your advice, and hope we can connect next time.
