<body>Hi everybody, today's outage has been resolved.

An ethernet adapter on the main Lightstalkers Web server failed, and it took a little time to mobilize onsite engineers for a fix; fortunately, no data was lost. We are, however, auditing the system carefully to make sure it's all ship-shape now.

Come of you have generously provided financial support to &quot;November Eleven&quot;:http://www.novembereleven.org -- we use your contributions to pay for stuff like RAM, CPUs, bandwidth, disk space, and backup solutions.

Unfortunately, *hardware* redundancy is even more expensive, and we don't have the budget for that just yet. When something major breaks on the Web server, we're pretty much stuck until someone can run out there and replace it.

We try to avoid excessive introspection on Lightstalkers, here in the discussion area, but certainly understand if anyone has questions. Thanks for your patience!</body>
