*Picture and Multimedia Editor, NPR Digital Media*

&lt;p&gt;

Help develop the visual style that translates NPR&#8217;s signature brand of in-depth journalism to a new medium. 

&lt;p&gt;

NPR.org is looking for a visual journalist who combines skills as a photography editor and multimedia producer to join the talented team that is turning NPR.org into one of the premier news, music and information sites on the Web. This is a full-time union position.

&lt;p&gt;
 
Duties: Improves overall quality, selection, and presentation of photography on NPR.org; makes and edits picture assignments; produces compelling photographic stories that may employ multiple media, including writing, audio, video and animation; develops regular photographic features on NPR.org; collaborates with staff to improve photography and picture-editing skills; and cultivates and maintains relationships with photographers and photographic agencies. 

&lt;p&gt;

Requirements: At least five years experience as a picture editor or photographer at newspapers, news magazines or news services (print or Web); demonstrated excellence as a visual storyteller and journalist; experience working on a Web publication or demonstrable passion for new-media tools and techniques; must be expert in use of digital photography and equipment and with computers and graphics software; excellent written and oral communication skills, a teamwork mentality, flexibility and sense of humor; experience maintaining high journalistic standards under deadline pressure, including standards of objectivity, balance and fairness and understanding of journalistic ethics. BA in photojournalism, design, photography, or a related field. 

&lt;p&gt;

Prefer: proven excellence as a reporter and writer, with video photography, video editing, audio production.
