NYT photog Tyler Hicks interviewed from Tyre on NPR this afternoon

NYT will be interviewed on what he is confronting in Lebanon on NPR’s All Things Considered this afternoon.

You can see a short gallery of his shots at http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5591796. The audio for that interview will be archived there with access to it there this evening.

The run-down says: “Although covering a war story comes with a grave risk, Hicks has been able to get up close to the action, capturing images that are hauntingly intimate. Hicks has covered conflicts across the globe: He explains what’s different about this assignment.”

Outside the US you can get the show live on the Web. Try WNYC in New York (http://www.wnyc.org/). The show is on its AM and FM channels, at 5 p.m. EDT (21:00 UTC/GMT). Afterward go to the above NPR link for the archive.

The third image, of the man being helped in the wreckage, is the money shot. It is classic.

Agreed Jon, but its unclear to me whether the man was injured in the intial blast or fell while helping out, not that it matters…..
