Overhauling Nigeria

It has been sometime coming but it never comes: simple development versus resource re-allocation.

Overhauling here refers to the dire craze among Nigeria’s 36 state governors to over-do what the governor of Lagos State is doing: making pasengers queue, emptying gutters, in fact canals with waste from way back 1980s… Yes… Destroying or breaking off the facade of all houses ‘unfortunate’ to have been built when there was no ‘dire craze to expand the roads and streets in order to… of course accomodate the excessive importation of used vehicles and planes to fill in the ’empty’ gap in requisition for transportation.

Since new cars from Europe and Japan became too expensive in the 1980s ‘again’ – the 1980s was when everything stopped in Nigeria. I believe we running, even, running out of the cremated British Colonial infrastructure if it can be called that. Hmm…

There are no ideas, humanistic in the least giving authority to an irresponsible government breakin off the facade of houses across the country and refusing to pay indemnities or compensation before the destrucion and demanding documents for the construction of houses.

For Doubting Thomases: Those who bore the brunt of these kinds of exercisies since the 1970s when Nigeria started going for big roads still unsafe have not even received a dime of compensation because like the IRS to Jefferson: Sorry. Sorry the new road construction did not get to your property… you can have your land back.

Facades in this country include aproximately 75percent of the tiny shops built into these houses and almost all houses have them… This is certainly going to kill people and destroy their livelihoods as all other government policies in the The Black World does :-(
