PBS FRONTLINE is producing an hour-long documentary about the earthquake disaster in Haiti and is looking for archival stills and video to help tell the story of the earthquake.
Specifically, we are hoping to do a before earthquake-after earthquake comparison of Port au Prince for inclusion in the film. As a result, I’m looking to collect and potentially license as photos of landmarks in PaP taken BEFORE the earthquake. These landmarks include but aren’t limited to:
The Trinity Cathedral, exterior and interior
The Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral
The National Palace
The Supreme Court/ Palace of Justice (palais de justice)
The Legislative Palace (palais legislatif)
The national prison
The Hotel Montana
The Christopher Hotel
The Oloffson Hotel
City Soleil (landscapes)
Port au Prince landscapes
Petionville landmarks
Any other easily recognizable landmarks either in PaP or elsewhere.
The idea is for our camera team currently in Port au Prince to shoot video from the same location that the photos were taken to show the scope of the disaster. Our team is only in Haiti until the end of the week, so if anyone does have such photos, the quicker we can see even super low-res photos the better.
