Petition to help photographer Ahn Sehong

Can I bend your ear for a second?

Myself and some colleagues are trying to help out this Korean photographer called Ahn Sehong. He was being funded by Nikon to complete and show a project about ‘Comfort Women’ . They were young women kidnapped and made to work as sex-slaves for the Japanese Army in WW2.

His pictures have generated a lot of controversy in Japan to the extent that he has had threats made to him by extremist groups.

Due to political pressure Nikon have bottled and withdrawn their funding . We’re putting a petition together to try and make them reverse that decision.

We’ve only been rolling for 24 hours and we’ve got over 100 photographers and photo-folks willing to add their name to the list – including a Magnum photographer.

We’ve set up a site here : www.iamcensored.co.uk

Can we add your name to the list?

If so do you know anyone else who might be sympathetic – we could really do with a few more ‘big’ names so we can get some press interested.
