Photographing land objects from a ship

I don´t know whether this topic is appropriate for lightstalkers since so many are photojournalists.

I would like to shoot castles and ruins along the Danube from a ship going from Vienna to Bratislava. The newest ship connection between the two cities is rather fast, about 50km/hr.

The photos I want should be good enough for projecting on the screen. I have a couple of snapshots which I shot the last time I was on the Danube, which was 1992. If I remember correctly, the trip took a few hours then. Given the speed of the ship now, should I shoot at 400?
