Photography Event and Competition at the Frontline Club

The Frontline Club are having a big photography networking party on Friday 18 September.

We would love as many Lightstalkers members to come as possible so if any of you would like to come we are offering 50% ticket price. If you are interested please email charlotte.cook [at] frontlineclub.com

Representatives of numerous photography organisations will be attending and a panel of key figures in the industry will examine the impact of citizen journalism on photography: Turi Munthe (CEO, Demotix), Olivier Laurent (News Editor, British Journal of Photography), Marc Vallée (Photographer) and Matthew Eltringham (BBC News, User Generated Content)

In addition there is a free bar courtesy of Chivas Regal and Beefeater Gin between 6.30pm and 9pm.

We are running three photography competitions. If you would like to take part in any of the competitions please follow the instructions below. Admission is open to all and there will be prizes within each category. The Current Affairs and Portraiture competition winners will be judged by a group of world renowned photojournalists and the winning shortlist will be exhibited for the night. The winners will be announced by Jon Levy, Editor of Foto8 Magazine.

Just a quick update on the photography competition. We now know the prizes for the competition.

Metro Imaging are giving £500 worth of services at the lab to each category winner. This credit can be used on any metro service excluding kit hire or film sales.

We have been inundated with entries, which is fantastic, but if you are still hovering over entering please do as soon as you can so that we have as much time as possible to prepare them for the judges.

A few people have asked us about usage/rights etc. You obviously retain all rights. All that we ask is that you are happy for us to show the images as part of the exhibition at the club and hopefully that we can also show the winning entries on our website.
