podcasts: music for travel
|
in the spirit of blue, I thought of sharing some of my fav music podcasts here.
I know many ls’ers travel a lot, and music is for sure a good companion on both long haul flights, boring bus rides and in almost every other imaginable situation…
my choice of podcasts are in the electronic/downtempo landscape, this was my area of music while dj’ing around, and is still among the genres I listen to the most…
my number one:
“beautiful noise broadcast”
http://beautifulnoisebroadcast.libsyn.com/
electronic, downtempo, chill, glitch and lots more electronic
and then the rest:
“the chillcast with anji bee”
http://www.anjibee.com/anji-bees-podcasts/
nice chillout
“music is art”
http://www.spottedpeccary.com/podcasts/
chill, ambient, esoteric
“solipsistic nation”
http://www.podcastpickle.com/cast/1299
all kinds of electronic
what’s your favorite music podcast?

I’m lucky to have one of the US’s great radio stations, KEXP, in my backyard.. they do a ton of podcasts that I can’t keep up with: http://www.kexp.org/podcasting/podcasting.asp . Song of the Day, a special podcast ‘show’, entire in-studio live performances. Broad swath of music too, indie, hiphop, world pop, rockabilly..
Best yet they stream from the website so you can listen from anywhere ‘live’

I usually load up my ipod with audiobooks. Right now I’m listening to one of my favorites “Great Expectations”
So much better than the big screen abomination with Ethan Hawke and Gwyneth Paltrow. Blech!
