Print on demand - India

I just received a quotation from a POD company in India, and i was wondering if any of you, guys, working or living there have ever printed with them: www.cinnamonteal.in. I tried Lulu (can’t even think to deal with them again, their quality was so bad, especially with BW), and then i printed a couple of personal books with viovio.com (these guys are pretty good from the print point of view. No color cast, grayscale printing looking really nice, fast shipping, good communication … though, thin paper and limitations regarding the size of the books on hard cover, as well as page no). But it seems like Cinamonteal is willing to offer a wide range of paper stock and different book sizes in hard cover. They offered to print my book on a 170gsm stock (both matte and glossy lamination), which was quite a pleasant surprize.
So, anybody out there who have printed with them and could confirm that this is not too good to be true?

Nobody? … strange, couse i read quite a few threads on POD and ppl seemed to be looking for better solutions than Lulu and even Blurb (don’t know if these guys would give an answer to it but it’s worth asking)

Muj, this is something very interesting. Thanks for sharing!! I was not aware of any POD company here in India. So I can’t help you with any feedback. But it appears that they are starting off so if you are really eager about their service just go for a test run with a small sample, if possible.

BTW how do you come to know about them?

hi Santanu, i thought about the same. very interesting indeed, and why not give them a chance. i will send them a pdf and see what they can come up with, especially with their wide range of paper stock on offer. the prices seem to be quite ok, too. as for your last question, i just went nuts one afternoon, sat on google, started with POD on the search and eventually ran into their site (among many others). but theirs look pretty professional, so i emailed them and they wrote back pretty soon with quotations, paper details and shipping details. as i said, a pleasant surprise.

I went to their site and checked it thoroughly. They appear pretty professional and their instructions are well written. They probably use open-source software for managing the cost of production. Hope the colour management and print quality is reasonable with them. Let us know how do you find your printed book.

Looking deeper, link seems effectively interesting and worth a trial.
