Deadline for entries: September 28th 2008

The Advertising Photographers of America (APA) is pleased to announce the launch of its much anticipated annual Photo Competition. Open to both APA members and non-members, the competition provides a great opportunity to showcase the work of talented photographers from across the country. It is a celebration of photography and recognition of extraordinary image making. This year we are encouraging photographers to “get your work out” and flex your creative muscle for a shot at some of the best prizes around, plus gain recognition from leaders within the photographic and advertising communities across the country.

We are now accepting submissions: APA welcomes members and non- members alike to submit via online entry at http://www.apanational.com; the deadline for entries has been extended to September 28th, 2008, at midnight PDT.

Competition winners will receive great exposure and valuable prizes from leading brands including: Canon, liveBooks, Adobe, ADBASE, Blinkbid, Digital Railroad, Workbook, Lowepro, Modern Postcard and Blurb. Winning work will be promoted through the APA online Winners Gallery, displayed at the APA National booth at the 2008 Photo Plus Expo, plus included in the Winners Exhibition at the Calumet gallery in NYC. Winning images will also be featured in a multi-page spread in the “Pictures of the Year” December 2008 issue of Rangefinder: The Magazine for Professional Photographers.

Entries are being accepted across eight categories: Lifestyle, Portrait, Fashion, Action (Sports/Adventure), Still-Life, Landscape/ Architecture, Personal/Fine Art, and Student.
