Questions about prison photography and photography in general

Hi everybody,

I have a weird (hopefully not annoying reason) I joined here. I’m a writer who is working on a short story about a photographer. I don’t know much. I really have no understanding at all about photography. I would love the opportunity to dialogue a bit with anyone who’d like to answer a couple of questions about your particular field. The first thing I’m needing is information on prison photography. As in, what exactly is entailed in order for someone to take a photo of someone who is in prison. If anyone has some info about that or just would like to share with me some of your insights, man would I love to hear about it. Thanks in advance. Boone

Have a look at this stuff. There’s a fair bit of work out there on the subject. Do a bit of googling, and then focus on the work you find interesting. Many folks who do this kind of work are activists, and are willing to talk to folks who find it interesting.

Hey, thank you so much. I hadn’t gotten an email notification so I hadn’t checked this site in a few days, so I apologize about not getting back to you earlier. Really appreciate it.
