Very cool, Kosuke. I only wish the photos were a bigger size; they deserve more space.

very clean design and I agree with Jonathan, the pics need to be bigger.

My one annoyance is the story on Orania and specifically this statement:

“Orania is a town in the centre of South Africa where only white people are allowed to live”

Its only the very small minority of cave dwellers who live there that think only white people can live there, when in reality there is no law that dictates that.

One thing I noticed, and this is important though it be a small thing, is that your English needs some fixing here or there. Have someone go over all the text and point out the errors. Editors do read these things, and if they find that the English is incorrect it makes for a bad impression. I dont mean to nitpick, I know that English is not your first language, but once having made the decision to communicate in the language you have to ensure that the language is grammatically and orthographically correct.

As for the image selection, which of course is the most important thing, I think you could afford to do a tighter edit. You really dont need so many images for each story, and you dissipate the impact somewhat by including them all. For example, in the Sicario story, do you need all of the following numbers 7,8,9, 14 and 15? There is a bit too much repetition and the info is stretched rather thin. One or maybe two images can establish the fact that Daniel lives and sleeps with his gun and that his house is a hovel. Look at numbers 8 and 9 of the Emerald mining story: do you need two images of crouching men, side by side? Economy of phrasing in your narratives is crucial if you want to sustain a viewer’s interest.

I like the layout and navigation. Providing an overview as you do with nice sized thumbs is a good idea

Finally, as an old black and white shooter I am forced to ask this question: are you shooting digi black and white straight in the camera? I ask this because in many of the images the shadows are blocked up, and the tonalities lack “crispness.” There is a lot of leaden grey in the imagery. At the very least I think you need to adjust the brightness and contrast a bit to make the images sing a little more on the computer screen. Sometimes it is hard to see just what is going on. I am all for deep shadow and chiaroscuro, but not when the action or meaning is obscured.

Kosuke; you have got nice pictures
I need to add a few more things, first of all:
your website for me is bit confusing may be could be pure and simple.
also, it seems like a website of photo agency. I don’t need city name in Darfur and exactly date.
Thum size might be smaller; when I look at the thumbs, I don’t need to look at pictures for bigger size.
I don’t need the site map option.
I like gray background over white color.
And your e-mail is confusing also, it is hard to keep in my mind :) may be you could change to (kosuke@kosuke.se or similar)
Take a look at this web site www.yunghikim.com , it is kinda simple and easy to read.

And I agree with Jon, you don’t need more pictures
I got these to tell you;
Good luck
