Sage/Firefox issue -- downloads forever but nothing happens?
|
Hey guys — can you help me out here? I’m running Firefox 1.0 and Sage 1.3. I’ve successfully added a couple feeds to Sage, but when I click on one, it says it’s downloading and nothing happens:

I tried reinstalling Sage, no change. Any hints on how to troubleshoot this?

I’m running a G4 optimitzed version of FireFox 1.0 with Sage 1.3, and I’m not having any problems. loads just fine. Try removing or disabling all of your extensions in FireFox and see what happens.

I’m having no luck! I uninstalled Sage, restarted Firefox, and reinstalled Sage. Now I can’t even get add a feed to the box… I can “discover” a feed, but when I click Add, nothing happens.
I also tried uninstalling Sage, deleting sage.html, and reinstalling Sage… no improvement.
Any advice? Conrad, I lost that link to the optimized build of Firefox, and I think I overwrote it when I reinstalled Firefox. Can you tell me what that was again?

I’ll email it to you rather than posting it here since there are so many different versions and I’d rather not flood the boad with a bunch of “I have XXX Mac, which build should I use?” posts.

Thanks man — I got the link you sent me. Actually, however, it seems that it was a configuration problem. I was fiddling with Sage settings, and it appears that Sage doesn’t work if you try to use the “root” Bookmarks folder as your Sage folder. Making a new sub-folder, and setting that to be Sage’s folder, has totally restored functionality. Thanks though, I do need that optimized build…

Okay, I have a follow-up question. Does Sage periodically “check feeds”, either according to their TTL or on its own schedule? Knowing would help me to stop obsessively clicking on “check feeds” all day long.

Hey guys — I’m experimenting with Feedburner. Can you update your subscriptions to use:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/Lightstalkers
Thanks!
