SCAF approved documentation

You have to email cairopresscenter@hotmail.com with a letter of assignment. Then when you arrive bring in the letter of assignment (on letterhead), a copy of your passport, a copy of your visa and two passport photos to the foreign press office in Maspiro (got to the entrance and the security guy will call up for you).

Sometimes they might tell you that you need a letter from your embassy stating that you are a journalist, but that’s not a huge issue as the embassies are very used to doing this and most of them have a form letter that they will dash out.

Oh and make sure you address things to Mr Gamal Abdel Fatah, General Manager of the Press Center.
